Chapter 8: Memories of Normie

December 4, 2011

I have many memories that I would like to share with you.  On Normie’s first day of school he couldn’t wait to go.  We took pictures in front of our house before we left.  When we went to school and when the bell rang, Normie started to cry.  He told me that he wanted to go home with me.  I told him he had to go to school so he could learn.  When we went into the school I stayed with him awhile because he did not want me to go.  Normie hung onto my legs for dear life.  The teacher took Normie to the side and spoke very calmly with him.  The teacher told Normie to play with the other children and at the point I left quietly.  The teacher said this would pass.  I went through this with him for about a week or so.  After a while he enjoyed school very much.

There was another time when I made chocolate chip cookies.  Normie would smell them when he came home. I would make them early in the morning and then I would hide them.  He would find them with no problem no matter where I had hid them.  It took me four years after his death before I would ever make them again.  Normie was a very loving person.  He had many girlfriends and a lot of friends.  He loved parties and holidays.  Normie stood up to weddings and was very proud to do so.  My son and I were very close we talked about everything that went on in his life.  To me Normie was a very handsome guy and he was well liked by all.  I miss those showers Normie took twice a day and the way he went through the house.

I miss his smiling face and the little jokes he liked to tell. Even the arguing that took place with his brother and the fights they had.  Normie loved life and he lived it to the fullest his short time on earth.  I as his mother have so many memories that I cannot put them all on paper.  The last memories I have were about him and his friends.  Normie spoke very highly of his friends.  At one time I told Normie that friends would not be there for him when he needed them the most.  Normie would say, “No mom, my friends will always be there for me.” You have no idea how those words have stayed in my mind.  Normie always trusted everyone.

I lived down the street from Normie until I was 12 and moved. We went to school from Kindergarten through 6th grade. I remember his birthday being in the summer before school started back up .. I can remember sitting on his front porch eating a chocolate cake roll for his birthday cake and the pigeons. god rest his soul.

His murderers cannot hide from God. We that still care about Norman know the truth. I’m sure his murderers are reading this too. Especially the one we know that pulled the trigger for his brother and brother in law. Rumors fill the air. We know the truth. PS, DS, DK. GOD WILL HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. I’m so sorry for you and what these guys did to Norman. He was such a great guy to know. Always smiling. God bless.
