Chapter 6: Picking up the pieces

October 11, 2011

About six months later, I had a very profound dream about my son.  This was an experience I only told a few people about.  I did not want anyone to think I was losing my mind.  I woke up one morning, got out of bed and made my husband his tea and lunch for work.  After that I went right back to bed.  I fell asleep and the next thing I knew I heard Normie talking to me.  He took me by the hand and asked me to come with him.  It was like I was standing outside myself observing what was happening to me. It was an out-of-body experience.

My son led me to his car.  He said, “Don’t worry Mom, just listen and watch I will always be there for you.”  We entered Normie’s car, the one he was driving the night he was killed.  I felt like I was floating towards the roof of his car looking down at what he was showing me.  Normie was telling me what happened that evening.  He told me that they were stopped somewhere in front of a house.  I could see who was in the car. I could see Dave, Ken and two other faces that were blank.  There was a girl in the front seat as well, I didn’t understand at first, but my son was trying to tell me something.  He told me to go and see a girl named Barb.  She will tell me some things about that night. He also told me that Ken and the other two guys went out of the car.  Normie then said, “a few minutes later everything went blank for him.”

My son then told me to find out what happened the rest of the night.  He turned to me and said, “MOM, I love you and don’t ever give up.” Normie brought me back to my bed and told me not to worry and that he would be there for me all of the time.  I woke up and jumped out of bed.  I could smell my son’s cologne and I felt his intense presence all around me.  The whole day was different in some way. After that one dream I had a few others dreams with Normie in them.  This one was so profound it became the driving force within me to seek out the truth.

I called my brother Mike and sister-in-law Joann.  I told Joann about the dream. At first, she was shocked but she said she would go with me to speak to the girl named Barb.  She would help in any way she could.  I so needed someone to believe me and they did.  It meant so much to me to have their support.
